The Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club was chartered on July
28, 2004. The Club is in District 6450 "The Birthplace of Rotary".
The train engine and barn reflect our rural past -
built by the railroads and farming. Our towns are located at the junction of
two major highways: Interstate 55 (I-55) and Interstate 80 (I-80). We are also
at the confluence of 3 counties in Illinois: Grundy, Will and Kendall - and the
waters of three rivers converge in the Channahon / Minooka area.
The boat represents the Illinois and Michigan canal tow
path that runs through Channahon - in the 1800's mules would tow the barges of
grain, coal and other goods from one portage to the rivers for transportation
to points far and wide.
