Best District Rotary Website 2006
eClub & Southgate - Joint Winners

41 Clubs in the District have websites. District Webmaster Dick Nathan set out four purposes when judging the Clubs that entered their Websites in the competition.

1. Allow the public to find and make contact with a Rotary Club in their locality.

2. Encourage and develop the interest of the public in their local Rotary Club, in Rotary in the District, in the Country and the world.

3. Provide information and resources to the public as well as members of the Club and to other Rotarians.

4. Shine a favourable light on Rotary International, on the Rotarians and on the work by Rotarians in the communities they serve.

eCLUB OF LONDON CENTENARY
This Club has developed its own website to cater for the special needs for eClub Rotarians. This is a large site with a large number of pages and many special features. The quality of the site is good, providing a professional image to Rotary on the Internet. The site has facilities for Blogs and includes a forum where members' views can be expressed.

SOUTHGATE
The Club's website is easy to navigate and professionally presented and talks about the broad spectrum of service given by Rotarians - as part of the world of Rotary - and gives achievements of Rotarians arising through service. Special mention was also made for the entry from June Hughes from the Rotary Club of Barnet and East Barnet, who is one of the Clubs using the RIBI-hosted website and is managing with little technical expertise to produce an up-to-date website for the Club.
