Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland
President Mike Webb said:
"We support the Sun
Online campaign for increased funding for childrens hospices as we are
are only too aware of the needs of these hospices throughout the
country."
Rotary has worked in partnership with childrens
hospices for many years raising more than £1 million for them.
|
As well as fund raising Rotarians are giving thousands
of hours of volunteer time, helping hospices in a variety of ways, both through
professional assistance especially in establishing new hospices as well as day
to day help in running hospices. Many Rotary Clubs have formed strong links
with their local childrens hospices including club members on the hospice
Board of Trustees, and this essential support will continue in the
future.
The Sun Online campaign is supported by HRH the
Countess of Wessex and a string of stars including Sharon Osbourne, Sir Steve
Redgrave CBE, Gary Lineker OBE and Dame Kelly Holmes.
